Internal Affairs

Tasks

  • Work on compiling a Resume Book of current members for industry partners and recruiters to view and hire from.
  • Keep an updated roster of SHAC members with important information regarding qualifications and roles within committees and projects.
  • Keep attendance records of project and committee meetings

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of 
  • Experience in Adobe Suite or equivalent for the organization of the resume book
  • Organization skills and previous experience in coordination and networking
  • Able to commit 1-3 hours per week

Tasks

  • Act as lead for organizing club social events, 3 workshops per semester, and 2 Guest speakers alongside internal directors.
  • Coordinate with other CED and CoE clubs and organizations.
  • Community build within SHAC

Qualifications

  • Experience in member coordination
  • Able to commit 1-3 hours per week

Tasks

  • Act as Financial Requestor (and ASUC Agent when needs)
  • Attend ASUC PSC Community Projects meetings
  • Organization of funds and communication with the Student Union Finance Office.
  • Work alongside project managers for funding, reimbursements, and purchase orders.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial systems and operations as well as experience with 
  • Organization and coordination
  • Coursework in Finance, Accounting, or aligning field
  • Able to commit 1-3 hours per week

Media

Tasks

  • Act as video lead for solar decathlon 5 part documentary series
  • Work with DKA film fraternity to help script and film series
  • Film and edit interviews with students, sponsors
  • Film and edit social media videos when necessary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with video editing and scripting
  • Preferred coursework in media studies/film
  • Able to commit 1-3 hours per week, work on weekends when needed

Tasks

  • In charge of making and posting social media content such as recruitment posts, project updates, and club advertisements
  • Manage social media posting schedule across all active accounts
  • Analyze user interaction with posts to determine more effective ways of marketing

Qualifications

  • Experience with adobe suite
  • Coursework or interests and experience with graphic design
  • Organization and coordination
  • Able to commit 1-3 hours per week

Outreach

Tasks 
  • Support outreach director in external engagement with local housing nonprofit groups, advocates, and the broader student community on the UC Berkeley campus
  • Coordinate with Media and Internal Affairs team in developing regular updates for SHAC general members on projects, funding, and organizational changes
  • Support build-out of grants database for future funding, partnership, and external communications opportunities
Qualifications
  • Some leadership experience in small group work (Does not need to be with a student organization)
  • Organizational skills and ability to set and manage a schedule
  • Some design and photography experience preferred
  • Experience with external engagement and public relations
  • Some knowledge of the nonprofit industry and social impact grants
Tasks 
  • Coordinate a team of 4 or more students in SHAC outreach tasks, grant writing, and external engagement asks
  • Hold 1-hr weekly meetings (Zoom or in person) for outreach updates and grant work 
  • Work closely with the Media team in design, videography projects, and developing external engagement materials for SHAC and specific project teams 
Qualifications
  • Some experience with basic spreadsheet tasks in Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
  • Strong organizational abilities (some experience in nonprofit administration and internal affairs preferred)

SHAC is an interdisciplinary group of undergraduate and graduate students at UC Berkeley with a shared passion for sustainability in the built environment.
